"On another day c'mon c'mon/With these ropes I tied can we do no wrong/Now we grieve cause now is gone/Things were good when we were young" - Von Bondies, C'mon C'mon* [buy the album]
For some reason, Sundays in August have me hankerin' for fast food. Last week it was Carl's Jr. This weekend, it was the evil McDonald's which now marks the second time since I saw Supersize Me in May that I've visited the golden arches. I feel so dirty. Thankfully they no longer ask you to "supersize" and those new breast strips they are hawking are damn good. Spicy Buffalo sauce, too? Deeee-lish. I got the light lemonade (only 5 calories or carbs or superfatty-you're-gonna-be-fatgrams or something) because I'm watching my figure.
And now, the news...
I'm not watching the Olympics (God I must hate America - or NBC's godawful coverage. I seriously need to never hear the name Michael Phelps ever again) but I'm thinking maybe they should be showing the games of the good USA Basketball team. And not that I'm watching but didn't Dawn Staley look just as wonderful as she always does at the Opening Ceremony? And, in strictly fashion terms, I'm rooting for Singapore because they rocked the hell out of the butterfly collar and all their athletes were gorgeous.
Scoot over James Blake, another brotha is trying to come up in the racket game.
I know your name is your legacy (or is it your deeds?) but come on Ms. Parks, do you really want to spend your last days going to court over a hot Outkast track?
reason #17 in the "New York has it and LA doesn't but I'm still not leaving the left coast" annals: Quality theatre.
*That Von Bondies track is currently the best damn theme song on TV. The show is F/X's Rescue Me which was pretty excellent this week.
