"This that gutter bullshit right here, man" - A Tribe Called Quest, Crew
I don't really have time for proper posting but some things:
The SXSW blogging while black revisisted discussions are in full force at blackfeminism.org.
My SXSW co-panelists are Tiffany B Brown, George Kelly, Tony Pierce, Monique and Lynne D Johnson. When I look around at all the new identity bloggers that are doing it real big lately, I start to feel like Shaq at the all-star game. All of a sudden, I've become one of the elder-statesmen of this black blog thing.
I'm mad stressed about a whole host of things right now.
I'm falling in love with google reader and have been using it instead of bloglines for much of the last week. I really like being able to use multiple tags for feeds and individual tags for posts, being able to star things, the specialized photo feeds and the cleanliness of it all. Managing and searching through your feeds could be done better and, while i appreciate being able to search for new content, what i really want is to be able to search through my own feeds to see what people I already read are saying about a particular topic.
I'm also falling in love with google talk. Somehow it feels a little more grown up and sensible vs. AOL IM and I love that chats are automatically saved to gmail. I'm always trying to remember old IM conversations for both personal and business reasons and sometimes i'm not at the computer I had the chat on to check the logs. i can google talk anywhere.
More of substance later I hope.
